Fall is my favorite season in Arizona! Especially up at Mount Lemmon. We had the perfect day with dreamy golden light for Michael and Mariah's engagement session. The sunlight glistened through the fall foliage as we popped some champagne and danced on the rocks at Windy Point. I enjoyed laughing and getting to know these two and I can't wait for their wedding next month!
It was a beautiful fall day in Southern Arizona when Caitlin and Vincent tied the knot! This group had me laughing all day and everyone had the best time. I'm grateful everyday to get the opportunity to photograph sweet couples like these two and create images they will cherish forever!
Congratulations to the newlyweds!

What do you do when your wedding gets postponed because of a pandemic?!
THIS!
Tyler and Caitlin found a beautiful spot (shhhh....it's a secret and I'll never tell) up on Mount Lemmon to get married surrounded by their closest friends and family. They exchanged letters in private (cue the tears), said their vows in the woods (it was magical) and danced as husband in wife in the middle of the highway (so cute)!
These two had me smiling all day and I can't wait for their BIG celebration this month!
After so many cancellations and reschedules in 2020, weddings were back in 2021 - oh happy day! Senovia and Joseph had a beautiful COVID friendly celebration last spring (masks, social distancing and live streaming are the new norm) and everything about their day had me smiling. Their vision of a rustic/vintage/simple party with pops of color and Mexican cultural influences complemented the historic Tucson Presidio neighborhood perfectly.
Wishing you two a lifetime of love, laughter and dancing!

Aaron and Ashley met through a mutual friend twelve years ago. Their first date was at Winter Haven and the rest is history! They are best friends who love to be silly and make each other laugh. Aaron proposed in August of 2020 while staying in a cabin in the White Mountains. They were both full of smiles and giggles at our engagement session down in Senoita last year. I am so excited for their spring wedding!
I can't wait for this sweet couple's spring wedding at Hacienda Del Sol! We had a great time getting to know each other during their engagement shoot in the Mercado District and out in the desert.
Michael and Kathryn met playing on a social kickball team in Fall 2017. Their first date was at a local place called Miss Saigon where they both got Ramen (maybe not the most attractive thing to eat on a first date haha). Afterwards they watched a movie at Mike's apartment called Rubber about a killer tire (yes, you read that right, a killer tire) - the movie was so bad they didn't even finish it. Luckily, the chemistry was there between them so they agreed to have another date despite the awful movie choice. They became official boyfriend/girlfriend on March 4, 2018. Their hobbies include cooking, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, playing volleyball, traveling and hanging out binging TV series.
They got engaged on February 14, 2021 while hiking Maiden Pools. On Valentines Day 2020 they did the same hike and took a picnic. At Maiden Pools they were able to find a secluded spot with their own private waterfall. Because of this, Mike suggested doing the same hike the following year. Mike practically ran up the mountain to get to Maiden Pools, with Kathryn questioning what the rush was. When they finally reached the same spot and sat down Mike got down on one knee and proposed and it was perfect!
We met back in the fall of 2017 and not even a week into our relationship I randomly invited Preston to a hockey game with my friends for my birthday not knowing he coaches/plays/loves hockey. He joins us, I socialize the entire time. Basically a good descriptor of our relationship, Kelsie chatting and entertaining the crowd while Preston does all of the activities and loves Kelsie unconditionally.
We got engaged in Sedona in January 2021. We were out for breakfast at the airport restaurant watching airplanes land. What a surprise!! Preston was searching hikes to do and found one with an amazing view. We went back to change and got ready to hike and while driving to the hike Kelsie was reading directions. Preston said, "No no that's not what I thought you'd do, just put it in your phone." The phone didn't give the location so we guessed. Well at the end of directions on all trail it says "Parking on the right, trailhead on the left." We missed that! We parked on right, saw people hiking up the right trailhead, so of course we followed! We got to the top and it was a mesa. We realized we were totally off. Kelsie wanted to punt and go for a beer and a burger. Turns out three hours of hiking is long enough for her. Preston convinced her to keep going. Two hours into the next hike, Kelsie was ready to put her feet up. We ran into another couple, who informed us we weren't even halfway and there was two feet of snow at the top. Preston agreed to pull off the trail for the beers we brought. In the most beautiful desolate area, Preston popped the question! Very memorable trip, for sure!
This day was extra special. It was my first time back behind the camera in months and this couple pulled off the perfect, COVID friendly, intimate wedding at Hacienda Del Sol. The weather was gorgeous, everyone was in such great spirits and the love shared between these two was evident in so many ways!
Wishing you happiness, love and laughter on your journey together!

Daniela's outfit perfectly complemented the spring flowers down in the barrio and we found a gorgeous spot for champagne and dancing.
Have a blast at your October wedding in Mexico. Wishing you both a lifetime of love and happiness!
These two were so much fun! Their wedding plans had to be changed because of COVID, but we made the best of it and had an amazing shoot on the most perfect fall day in the cutest, hidden neighborhood in Tucson and out in the desert. I love the chemistry and energy they share! They were full of laughs and so much love.
Wishing you all the best on your journey together!

Renee and Derek had to cancel their plans for a big fall wedding due to the pandemic, but what happened instead was magical!
With the help of family and friends, they had the perfect intimate and romantic backyard wedding. It was wonderful to be back at it and witness love and laughter after so many difficult months.
Congratulations to the happy couple and thanks for having me capture your day!
Looking back on this beautiful wedding brings me such happiness! It feels good to be reminded of life before the pandemic - when embraces, laughter without masks, and large group celebrations were the norm.
I first met Casey and Zoe at Pueblo Vida Brewing in downtown Tucson in early 2019. They met on Tinder (a modern romance) just under five years ago. Their first date was at a very hip bar in Spokane, WA and ended at the pizza place across the street. Zoe's heart was soon stolen with his homemade pizza and their fates were sealed. However, they had to endure long distance for a few years before Zoe finally moved down to Tucson.
These two are a perfect match in every way and their engagement story is perfectly them! From Zoe:
"Last September, we had gotten home after getting ice cream from Dairy Queen and we were sitting in the backyard. Casey had been talking about a surprise he was working on, with a jeweler. I had my suspicions, but had sufficiently squashed them to prevent any potential disappointment if it wasn't an engagement ring. It totally was, but when Casey presented the ring to me and said "Do you wanna...?" My reaction was to say, "Oh, wow!" And accept the ring while my little hamster wheel very slowly processed what was happening. I figured it out....eventually, and everyone made fun of me forever."
Since they are anything but traditional, they wanted something different for their engagement session. In case you missed it, check it out here.
They had a beautiful January day for their celebration at Catalina State Park. The party continued with delicious food, dancing and so much laughter at Casey's parents' house. This was the last wedding I documented before COVID hit. It took me this long to post it because so much of my motivation left when the pandemic changed everything. But it feels good to be back!
Love is out there. Every day. Everywhere. Even in a pandemic.
Stay safe and healthy friends!

What an absolutely gorgeous and perfect day for Brock and Adi's wedding! These two are so in love and it was such an honor to witness their marriage along with their sweet friends and family. The stunning desert landscape provided the perfect backdrop as they took their first steps as husband and wife!
Warmest congratulations and love to you both and thanks for making my last wedding of 2019 definitely the best!

This wedding holds a special place in my heart!
When I first met with Megan and Colby for coffee to learn about their wedding plans, I immediately saw what an awesome couple they were and loved the story of how they met. Megan’s childhood best friend was dating Colby’s childhood best friend and they brought the two of them along on a blind double date and that was it! In the last four years they have bought a house together, had a daughter together, and have loved traveling and experiencing life together.
Everything they envisioned for their fall wedding fit with my style and I was so excited at the possibility to get to work with them! And then I found out Colby was the son of Jon and Georgina of Something Blue Photography. Oh wow! So not only was I super excited to get to photograph their son’s wedding, I was extremely nervous - the pressure was on!
But once the planning got underway and we did the engagement shoot (check it out here), all my nervousness went away!
These two have such a deep connection and the family bonds they share with their children and extended relatives made for a day I will remember always!

These two sweethearts had me smiling all day!
Tyler and Mariko had a beautiful wedding filled with sunshine, smiles, and so much love. Their story is the sweetest.
From the bride:
Tyler and I have known each other for the past nine years. We met each other through my sister in Middle School. Marisa, my sister, was already friends with Tyler and I convinced her to, essentially, "spy" on him and tell me if he liked anyone. In 8th grade, both of us went on a trip to New York with our school. It was there that we told each other that we "liked liked" each other. Starting Freshman year of High school (2011), we went on our first date to the zoo. It was a really big deal because Tyler just learned to drive. He was so sweet, he drove me, my sister, and our two friends to the zoo on our date. The rest is history :)
Tyler proposed to me on his birthday in 2017. I took him out to dinner and, I remember, he was extremely nervous. He was fidgeting and constantly messing with something throughout the entire dinner. As we were walking out, he suggested that we take a walk through Reid park. It was late and that made me nervous. So I insisted that, instead, we walk through Target because I needed to buy a toothbrush. Tyler gave this huge sighed, reached in the car and got down on one knee. He proposed. I started crying. I was so surprised and happy. Obviously, I said yes.
Fast forward to November 12, 2019! My favorite part of their wedding was watching both families beam with happiness - especially the kids on the dance floor! I also loved the little details - sunflowers, skeleton keys, and lace all made for such a beautiful day!

This wedding was everything I dreamed it would be and more! Janelle and Rey are the sweetest couple and I have had so much fun getting to know them over the last year. We first met to discuss wedding plans over beers in downtown Tucson and I knew from that moment, their wedding was going to be a blast! Their engagement session up on Mount Lemmon was one of my absolute favorites. In case you missed it, check it out here!
Located in the Lost Barrio, Park Avenue Weddings was the perfect spot for these two to celebrate. The historic train backdrop complemented the bridesmaids' maroon dresses and the industrial warehouse space was ideal for the epic late night dance party.

What a gorgeous day in the desert for these two to say "I do!"
The natural beauty of Hacienda Del Sol was the perfect backdrop for Ross and Gabby to tie the knot and celebrate with friends and family all weekend long. From the sweet letters they shared with each other beforehand and the first look that was filled with smiles and tears, to the quiet moment during the ceremony when the couple got to take a moment to breathe it all in, it was a day to remember! Dennis and Samantha had the most beautiful celebration last spring! The mountain views, the warm desert sun, and the soft spring breeze made for a perfect day. The couple met while in college back in 2015 and got engaged on a snowy mountain in Colorado along with their dog! As soon as I met these two, I knew their wedding would be filled with so much laughter and love. They made a huge move across the pond to Germany the summer before the wedding and did most of the planning abroad. Everything turned out gorgeous! Samantha's family did a beautiful job with the decorations and their dessert table is one of my favorites to date!
Congratulations and cheers to the couple!

Getting to know Casey and Zoe over pinball and cold beers was the best! While planning their portrait session, Zoe read my mind when she suggested D&D Pinball downtown. I always want my couples to have fun and feel comfortable during their shoot, so I encourage locations that will put them at ease. These two were all laughs and snuggles while they battled it out on Star Wars, Twilight Zone, and more! Next stop was the peace and quiet of the Sonoran Desert. It was a beautiful evening with soft cloud cover and a slight breeze. I learned about Casey's love of restoring old watches, the story behind Zoe's beautiful ring, and their plans for a fun celebration with friends and family in the mountains to celebrate their marriage! These two are the most down to earth, easy-going, and sweet couple and their wedding next year at Catalina State Park is going to be amazing!
When I think back on Chris and Megan's wedding, what I remember most is the amount of happy tears shared by these two. When Chris saw Megan for the first time that day, his emotions over took and it was THE sweetest thing to photograph. The love and commitment they share was evident to all who witnessed their beautiful ceremony. Megan was absolutely beaming as she walked down the aisle to meet Chris and their vows were filled with tears, followed by laughter, which always gets to me when I'm behind the lens! They had an awesome bridal party and I love the image we got in the lobby of Ventana Canyon. The day started off with clouds but the sun came out for the ceremony and the rest of the day was perfect. The sunset photos of the newly married couple are my favorite from the day, followed by the epic father/daughter dance (they got the crowd involved with The Sugarhill Gang and it was so fun) and then the cutest cake cutting ever (the broken serving knife had them both laughing hysterically)!
Thank you for having me photograph your day. Wishing you many happy years of love and laughter!

I'm so excited for Colby and Megan's wedding next month! It was a blast getting to know these two last spring up at Mount Lemmon during their engagement shoot. They are the sweetest, kindest and most fun couple to be around! We enjoyed a champagne toast together and Megan's gorgeous red dress was perfect against the dreamy sunset backdrop of Windy Point!
Can't wait for 11/16/19!
Documenting Walter and Heather's wedding last spring at Z Mansion in Tucson filled my heart with so much joy! These two had me smiling all day and I love being able to celebrate two families joining together. To honor Heather's Chinese background, she adorned a stunning red dress (symbolizing success, loyalty, honor, and fertility) and Walter had to "win over" her friends/family by haggling with them until they were satisfied with the offer. Next came the traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony to show respect to their elders along with the distribution of lucky red envelopes. I was honored to receive one!
Heather changed into a white western-style dress while the Mariachi band arrived to entertain guests as they waited for the traditional American wedding to begin. It was a beautiful ceremony followed by a wonderful celebration with delicious food, music and of course - dancing!

These two had the most beautiful wedding last spring at the amazing Hacienda Del Sol! Everything was perfect - from the gorgeous blush bridesmaid dresses and stunning floral arrangements, to the romantic sunset photos and epic dance party, it was a day Aaron and Danyelle will remember forever.
I love hearing how my couples met, how they got, engaged, etc. These sweethearts have the cutest love story. Their first date was in Hawaii. Seriously!
From the bride: "Aaron and I have been together for a year and a half. We met almost three years ago at my white coat ceremony for PA school. My best girl friend from PA school is Aaron's sister. We re-met again at her wedding last May and hit it off. Our first date was in Maui, Hawaii when he asked me to spontaneously go on a work trip over the Fourth of July weekend. We have been inseparable since. Our relationship has been long distance so far as Aaron lives in Washington and I live in the Phoenix area. We love to travel together and recently added a little Malti-poo named Jack.
Aaron proposed on a day trip to Oak Creek Canyon at the end of July. We packed up the car with our dog and his camera supplies and headed up to Sedona under the pretense of taking "family pictures." We skipped breakfast, got stuck on the I-17 N in bumper to bumper traffic, and didn't plan for the Subie's oil light to turn on. Hungry and cranky, we finally made it to Sedona. I made Aaron pull over next to a roadside cafe/market. He convinced me to walk a little ways along the river before going to eat so he could take a few pictures. Little did I know, he was actually filming us and on a trail next Oak Creek River he proposed. Our day was nowhere near perfect but I wouldn't change a single detail of it. BEST DAY EVER!"
Congratulations on your forever!

I'm so excited for their fall wedding!
Springtime in Arizona is magical and it was a beautiful day for Alex and Ryan to say their "I Do's." It has been a joy getting to know this couple and following their journey.
They met the "old fashioned way"-- online! Haha! They were both living in south Florida and ended up catching each other's eye based on their mutual love for Jurassic Park/Jurassic World (it had just been released). From the moment they met, they were practically inseparable.
Three and a half years later, Ryan surprised Alex with a one-night trip to Portsmouth, NH to celebrate their last night of freedom (before picking up their new puppy the next morning). When they arrived at the hotel, they were "upgraded" to a nicer room (it was all pre-arranged with the hotel management). As they explored the room, Alex found the bedroom and noticed the rose pedals and flowers covering the bed. When she turned around, Ryan was down on one knee with the ring. After Alex got through her tears of joy, she said yes! They spent the evening celebrating with a romantic dinner and a perfect last night of freedom/first night together planning the rest of their lives.
Their wedding was filled with so much happiness, laughter and love! Thank you for having me capture your special day! XO

Meet Gabby, Ross and Maple!
I had so much fun getting to know them at their desert engagement session last spring. The couple met in 2016 and bonded over their love of sports, the outdoors, and a good game of scrabble! Ross found Maple abandoned out at a rock quarry on Halloween in 2017. She was in rough shape but after a little love and TLC, she quickly became a part of their family!
They got engaged at City Hall in San Francisco on February 8th, 2019. It was Gabby's dream to get married at the San Francisco City Hall because it is small, easy, and BEAUTIFUL there. But with both of them having such close relationships with their parents and friends, it was pretty obvious that when they got married, they would have a wedding. On Thursday evening (February 7th), Ross told Gabby to pack a bag because they were going on a last minute trip. It wasn't until they arrived at the gate at the Tucson airport that she knew they were going to San Francisco. Upon arrival, Ross had a cab take them to City Hall where a photographer had been waiting and he proposed on the front steps!
How awesome is that?!
Maple was a trooper for their engagement session and the love and laughter shared by Gabby and Ross made for so many gorgeous photographs.
I'm so excited for their celebration this fall at Hacienda Del Sol!
The sun came out, the snow melted and everything was right in the world for Yellie and Micah's epic Tucson celebration last February! It was an absolute honor to document their wedding. So many sweet people from all over the country joined together for these two. It was perfect from beginning to end and I'm grateful to be part of their journey!

A day these two will never forget. A day filled with so much love, joy, and happiness for everyone who experienced this celebration!
It's been so much fun getting to know Vanessa and Stephanie over the last year and a half. When they brought their own music (along with some whiskey) to our engagement session, I knew we were in for a treat! They are both so easy to talk to, have such great energy, make everyone around them feel welcome and their laughter is contagious. In case you missed it, check out their engagement session here.

When I first met with Cheyanne and Michael to hear about their wedding plans, I was immediately drawn to their outgoing personalities, genuine kindness and intense love for each other! I’ve truly enjoyed getting to know these two sweet souls over the last year and working with them to plan their big day. I knew their celebration would be full of so much love, laughter and fun, but I was blown away by the amount of kindness, warmth and joy everyone experienced on that beautiful fall day in Tucson.
The bride chose her gown from Free Ever Bridal Boutique - a resale bridal shop whose proceeds go to combat sexual abuse and exploitation (sex trafficking) in Tucson. Cheyanne absolutely glowed in this gown and her choice to support this organization is an honest reflection of her character. Wait until you see the statement paper flower bouquets for the bridal party - they were gorgeous! The couple decided to do a first touch and the excitement was electric as these two held hands across the doorways. I had to hold in the tears while documenting this! The warm sun enveloped these two during the pinky promise and hand-fasting moments of the ceremony. And once the sun dropped behind the mountains for their portraits, it was a little chilly, but I was touched by how Mike wrapped Cheyanne up with hugs and snuggles. The reception was filled with SO MUCH dancing! I even caught myself in the middle of the dance party because it was just THAT kind of celebration!
Thank you for the honor of capturing your day. I wish you all the best as you embark on this journey of building your new lives together!

I don’t even know where to begin with this wedding! Kristina and Chase are the sweetest couple and their elegant fall celebration at Skyline Country Club went beyond all expectations! After meeting with the couple to hear about their wedding vision, I was ALL IN. Classy, timeless and fun were words Kristina used to describe how she wanted her day to be remembered. The candid and natural “little moments” were what she ideally wanted to see in her photographs.
From the couples’ high-five after sealing their vow books during their ceremony, to their EPIC first dance, to the sweet surprises they had for each other, to the gorgeous navy and champagne color palette, this wedding is one I will remember always!

Caitlin and Matt’s fall wedding at The Tucson Museum of Art has a special place in my heart. I first met the Peel family three years ago when I photographed Tracy and Isaac’s wedding (Caitlin’s sister) at a gorgeous venue in downtown Tucson. Everyone was so kind and gracious, and we had an absolute blast. So I was thrilled when Caitlin got engaged and reached out to me while planning her wedding.
Their engagement story is seriously my favorite!
From the bride:
Matt and I got engaged on April 14, 2017. We were in Lincoln City on the Oregon coast hiking to a waterfall that you can see from a suspension bridge. Little did I know that my fear of heights was exacerbated by standing on a dangling bridge overlooking a raging waterfall! I was standing on the bridge, frozen in fear, and Matt tried to say something to me and put his arm around me. I responded with "Don't touch me!" and ran toward solid ground. He followed me to the mud pit where I was standing and said "Well, I guess this is as good a place as any," and got down on one knee. I was completely shocked, I had no idea he was planning to propose the whole day. It was sweet, funny, and very indicative of our relationship. Even if the bridge in front of the waterfall would have been more picturesque, we're just as happy down in the mud.
These two have the kind of fun-loving, laugh-a-lot, genuine relationship we all crave! They've been together seven years and have lived and worked in Portland with their cat Louis for the last few years. Louis is a little black and white tuxedo cat with really short legs. Check out this funny article the groom wrote about him: http://www.wweek.com/headout/2016/06/20/a-formal-application-for-the-amazing-acro-cats-cat-circus/
They love to cook, go to movies, play old school video games (they gifted each other a Super Nintendo for their 7th anniversary), drink wine, and laugh…a lot! Their wedding at the museum was perfect in every way and it was such an honor to photograph it. Wishing you two a lifetime of love and lots of laughter!

It was an absolute joy getting to know Danyelle and Aaron at our desert engagement session last fall! I love their fairytale and am so excited for their spring wedding!
From the couple:
Welcome to our fairytale!
Aaron and I met for the first time almost three years ago at my white coat ceremony for PA school. We met again last May at his sister's wedding. He finally asked me to dance and then we spent the night talking and talking. I'm pretty sure Aaron told me that he was going to marry me that night but I didn't believe him. As an avid watcher of all romance movies, I was pretty convinced that real life was not like the movies.
As fate would have it, we ran into each other again in the Las Vegas airport later that summer. We ended up sharing an Uber to the hotel that be both just happened to be staying at and spent some more time getting to know one another.
After Las Vegas, Aaron took me on a whirlwind trip to Maui, Hawaii. A wise person once said, "If you can travel with him, marry him." We rented a Mustang convertible and explored most of the island together. Our first date was at the Four Seasons Resort (Aaron set the bar really high for himself for the future, sorry babe!). And on a beach outside of our hotel we both decided to commit 100% to a long distance relationship.
Aaron and I have gone on many adventures together since Hawaii.
We have:
Explored Sedona and the red rocks
Spent New Years Eve in San Diego
Gone wine tasting in the Arizona Desert.
Indulged our inner child at Disneyland.
Survived the holiday season with our families
Welcomed a dog-child into our lives
And now we are getting ready to embark on our biggest adventure yet! Thank you for joining us on this crazy ride!
Here in Tucson, we love our thunderstorms - even on wedding day! The rolling clouds, soft thunder and beautiful skies provided the perfect backdrop as Chadd and Stephanie tied the knot. But luckily we had sunny skies for most of the day and the rain held out until dinner which allowed us to get some gorgeous photos. These two have so much chemistry and are a blast to be around! Not to mention their wedding party had me laughing all day long. Make sure to scroll down and see Chadd and his guys literally jumping for joy!
Congratulations! XO

We spent a week sharing our yoga practice on a beautiful pier overlooking the sea, enjoying delicious meals together and bonding with the 17 other awesome yogis! I was immediately drawn to their connection, compassion and kindness. These two sweet souls are meant to spend their lives together so when I got a call from Yellie last summer asking me to photograph their wedding, I was over the moon!
Micah and Yellie met as they started their first signed season together with Ballet Tucson in 2014. The two quickly fell in love as Yellie continued dancing with Ballet Tucson and Micah decided to pursue his Master’s degree with the University of Arizona. After Micah graduated they moved to Portland, Oregon for a year of teaching, dancing and choreography. Ithaca Ballet hired them as principle artists for Swan Lake in the spring of 2018. Micah decided to contact the director (Cindy Reid) and secretly asked if he could propose to Yellie on stage, and she agreed! To Yellie’s surprise Micah popped the question while during the final bow and the beauty only begins there!
They currently perform for The Twin Cities Ballet of Minnesota but came back to Tucson over Labor Day for wedding planning and their engagement shoot. Monsoon season was in full effect and we couldn't stop the rain so we embraced it! I love the mood, passion, and fire in these images.
I'm so excited for 2/24/19!

l have a special place in my heart for these two. Samantha and I first met four years ago when she was planning her proposal to Jackie. She wanted a photographer to document it and I absolutely loved her vision! Sam took Jackie to several of their favorite places around Tucson and ended up at the end of Bilby Road (where I was strategically hidden off to the side). I captured Jackie opening multiple cards written by Sam and the last one ended with a proposal! It was the sweetest moment shared between the sweetest humans.
Since then I've witnessed their relationship grow and their love for each other deepen. We have also developed a friendship that I am very grateful for! We share a love of yoga and Tucson. We have even bumped into each other at yoga class!
These two have so much chemistry and they are genuinely a blast to be around! Their dreamy engagement shoot was featured on Equally Wed and you can see the whole session here. Over the years I've seen them graduate and start new jobs, all while taking their time planning their dream wedding.
The day finally arrived last August and it was one I'll never forget. You see, Sam is hearing impaired and signs to communicate (along with lip reading). Their ceremony was the most emotional, expressive, and beautiful one I've ever witnessed! Not to mention all the dancing, laughing, and fun had by everyone at the reception!
Sam and Jackie - thank you for having me along on your journey. I wish you a lifetime of love, laughter, and happiness!

Meet Jessica and Aarron. They are the sweetest, cutest, and most in-love couple! You'll never believe how they met - Tinder. Yup! They are a Tinder success story! After a first date with ice cream and four hours of talking, the rest is history!
They also have a pretty amazing engagement story. Aarron has his pilot's license and on their two-year anniversary, while up in the sky, he proposed and Jessica said YES (very loudly)!
The soft desert light made the best backdrop for their engagement session and we had so much fun laughing and getting to know each other. I'm so excited for their wedding next month!

Kathryn and I hit it off immediately! We connected over our love for dogs (we both have rescues), succulents, and everything Tucson. Even though she grew up a Cali girl, she spent time visiting her grandma in Arizona and has had a love for the desert ever since. So I was all in when she shared her wedding vision with me! As an artist, Kathryn chose the perfect color palette to complement the desert, beautiful decorations to accent the rustic venue, and so many DIY details for guests to enjoy!
The week before the wedding, I met Daniel for the first time and instantly saw how much he adored Kathryn. They had been a couple for 8 years, were both giddy with excitement for the day and couldn't wait for it all to come together!
The monsoon rains came and went early on the day of the wedding and the sun popped out just before the ceremony! We were treated to a bit of rolling thunder and it started to sprinkle just after the newly married couples first kiss. The soft summer desert rain made for a breathtaking sky for the bride and groom portraits! Their day was a dream to photograph and the love and laughter shared by everyone at the reception had me smiling all night.
Kathryn and Daniel - thank you for asking me to photograph your wedding. Wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness!

It was a gorgeous, sunny, spring day in Tucson when these two pledged their eternal love for each other surrounded by their children, families, and friends. Candace was absolutely glowing all day and she couldn't stop smiling! When I asked her about her relationship with Ryan, she said "Laugher is the best medicine and good for the soul, which is exactly what we do!" Their wedding was full of laughter, dancing, and I can't forget all the gorgeous details - her cake (my favorite topper of all time...scroll down to see), the flowers, the blush pink mismatched bridesmaid dresses and the super cute custom made can coozies for guests! It all made for an amazing celebration and one that was so much fun to document!
Congratulations Candace and Ryan! And keep laughing :)

Sally and Jeff met in college while playing for the same intramural soccer team while at The University of Colorado Boulder. Jeff was three years older and Sally had a huge crush on him, but he never noticed! Eventually, after Jeff graduated and moved to Denver, they lost touch. Fast forward a few years later to Sally moving to Denver, her sister making the connection that her boyfriend was high school buddies with Jeff, and BAM! She set them up on a blind date and the rest is history!
Their celebration had me smiling all day and my favorite part? When Jeff surprised Sally with a Pug puppy (in photo form) as a wedding gift. So cute! Also, the "vanity fair" style bridal party shot we got was pretty epic!
My sincerest thanks to the happy couple for asking me to document their day!
Best wishes!

"I do.
Me too."
Those four simple but powerful words were the theme for this couple's modern, downtown Tucson wedding! Everything about Liam and Brett's day had me smiling, especially the cactus cookies, cat themed cake decorations and the emerald green bridesmaid dresses - inspired by Liam's Irish heritage. The celebration on the dance floor was epic and so much fun to capture!

Clayton and Loren are the sweetest couple. From the moment I met them, their deep connection and love for each other was evident and I knew photographing their wedding would be amazing. They were introduced in 2013 through the Arnold Air Society (a club branch of the Air Force ROTC). Their relationship grew and in 2017, Clayton asked for her hand in marriage while in Boston (Loren's favorite city) surrounded by her family. After an emotional "YES," the two celebrated on the east coast and then came back to Arizona to plan the wedding of their dreams. And what a perfect day it was! Family and friends came together from as far as South Korea and were treated to a gorgeous celebration. Documenting their fairy tale wedding was an absolute joy! One thing that will always stick with me was the way Clayton looked at Loren. All day he would give her the most loving look. If she wasn't by his side, I would catch him looking for her. She is truly his other half and the love I see when they look in each other's eyes melts my heart.
All the best to you both! XO

Intimate/elopement style weddings are the best and this one goes down as one of my all-time favorites! Laura and Josh decided to escape the chilly spring Minnesota weather and get married at the historic Hacienda Del Sol Guest Ranch in Tucson, AZ last March surrounded by their immediate families.
They have the cutest proposal story but I'll leave that to the experts at "How He Asked" by The Knot: https://howheasked.com/laura-and-josh/
The couple was all smiles from beginning to end and their sweet celebration was magical. I'll let the photos tell the story (you've got to see the stunning mountain views, gigantic cactus, and the horses) and my favorite part was their first look - Laura's reaction was the best!

When I first met with Jami and Brian to learn about their wedding vision, I knew they were exactly the type of couple I love to work with - the fun loving, easy going, up for anything couple! What resonated with me is how happy they are. They both genuinely love each other's company and just want to have fun and laugh...a lot! When we talked about ideas for their engagement session, we knew we wanted to do something outside of the box. So sangria and fries it was! Maynards Market & Kitchen in downtown Tucson was the perfect spot for the couple to relax and laugh while I got beautiful photos. Then we headed out to the desert at sunset which was dreamy and let me see the softer, romantic side of their relationship. We ended the shoot by popping a bottle of bubbly to celebrate!
I'm so excited for their upcoming wedding at La Mariposa!
This is Nick and Ally. They met five years ago in Washington D.C., moved to Tucson in 2015, got a dog named Ares together (who is represented on the groom's socks - see below), and had a gorgeous desert wedding last February at Hacienda Del Sol. They brought friends and family from the East Coast to the desert and really wanted to show off the beauty of the southwest. The historic charm of the venue perfectly accented their warm color palette of copper, blush, and green. And they had a beer burro! Best wedding surprise ever!

When I first FaceTimed with BriAnna and Sean, I knew they were exactly the type of couple that would be a blast to work with! Their easy-going, fun-loving personalities had me laughing away as we chatted about their wedding vision. I'll never forget Sean's response when I asked him what photos were most important to him, "We have enough pictures of us, we want photos that show our guests having fun and enjoying the day!" And fun they had! Sean and Bri also warned me that there would be an "epic dance party." Now I have been a part of close to 100 weddings and let me tell you, he wasn't kidding (check out Sean's awesome dance moves below). This was a dance party to END all dance parties! I was shooting away but secretly jealous that I wasn't on the floor with everyone!
The team at Borderlands Brewery and Maynards Market & Kitchen did a great job working with our California couple to make sure everything was perfect for their unique celebration. From Bri's red dress, to the premature pronouncement of the couple (that's an inside joke that only wedding guests will understand...haha), their wedding was one I will never forget!

Engagement story! (paraphrased from the couple):
For the first three years they dated, Bri lived in Los Angeles and Sean lived in Bakersfield, seeing each other only on weekends. When Bri landed a dream job with the National Park Service in San Francisco, Sean concentrated his job search in the Bay Area. After six months, Sean got a job but didn't tell Bri right away! Instead, Sean discretely warned her family and his, and proceeded to propose to Bri with a ring he had ready. After Easter Vigil Mass, while staying with his grandparents in San Luis Obispo, Sean took Bri on a stroll down to the beach. While sitting on a park bench, Sean pulled out a little blue box and asked her to open it. Once he finally convinced her to open it, the first words out of her mouth were, "Does this mean you got the job?!" :) :)

I'm always interested in how people meet and fall in love. What brings two people together? How much does one small decision we make impact another? Life can be a confusing journey but Kathleen and Wesley's story is proof that true love will always find a way! To hear this sweet couple's story, scroll to the bottom!
When I first talked with Kathleen and Wesley about their vision for their wedding, I knew it would be a dream to photograph. They wanted a relaxed, fun-loving vibe, highlighting the beauty of the desert landscape at Tanque Verde Guest Ranch and they nailed it!

They were both born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, just 34 days apart. However, they literally grew up on the opposite ends of town, so never met each other until well after Kathleen left Arizona for college in San Diego. They were introduced their junior year of college through both their little sisters who had become friends while attending the University of Arizona. Kathleen was spoken for at the time but Wesley knew there was something there and understood that patience is a virtue. Eventually Wesley graduated U of A and moved away to Chicago, but every year for Christmas Kathleen and Wesley would both visit home and inevitably meet up in group settings. Finally, while in Tucson for the holiday break in 2013, they were both were unattached. They met up with a group of friends and Wes and Kathleen talked nearly the entire night only with each other and ended up watching Elf until the early hours of the morning. It was after that evening that everything changed, the connection was exciting and clear to both of them - and obvious to everyone around. Even though they now lived on opposite sides of the country (California and Illinois) they texted and called frequently flirting and conspiring when they would be able to see each other again. Wes had been growing tired of the freezing cold city life in Chicago and was looking for an opportunity to relocate, while Kathleen happened to be living in America's finest city which is also closer to his family and many longtime friends, the opportunity was too obvious to deny. As soon as he started looking for a job everything just sort of fell into place and he quickly was offered an incredible job in San Diego in his dream industry and by the first week of March was living in San Diego and they were officially an item. The rest is history, or at least the beginning of it!
I love their engagement story! From Kathleen:
One Friday night over Labor Day weekend in September of 2016, Wesley being true romantic, made a reservation at an amazing restaurant in downtown Carlsbad. On the way down to the restaurant Wesley got a phone call and claimed it was the restaurant calling to ask if they could push our reservation back a half hour because they were running behind. Right then, we just happened to be driving by our neighborhood park that sits overlooking the lagoon, and Wesley quickly pulled off the road and parked. He said "Why don't just hang out here for a few minutes before heading over then", and I was like "What kind of nice restaurant calls ten minutes before a reservation time and asks to push it back?! Screw them!" I was close to saying we should just go somewhere else, but we were already stopped at the beautiful park right on the water and it was just about sunset so it wasn't a crazy idea to just get out and chill for little bit. Wes quickly hopped out the car and started walking over the edge of the park where there is a big set of binoculars visitors can use to look around the lagoon. He literally bee-lined it to the binoculars and started quickly telling a story about how his parents and he had been at the park a few days earlier when they visited and had seen the same kitty we had been spotting around the neighborhood. He peered into the binoculars and excitedly said "Oh my gosh, I see that cat again, I'm not even kidding, look!" And he had me look through the binoculars, and as I looked through, a big tree across the lagoon came into focus that had a huge sign on it that said "Will you Marry Me?" with an image of the monkey iPhone emoji (our ridiculously silly pet names, he's the tree and I'm the monkey.). I turned around from the binoculars as the sun is setting beautifully and Wes is knelt down, pulls the ring box out of his sock and begins talking (words I cannot hear because of the intense state of shock). Then I notice a man approaching us with a large camera lens clicking at us and I say to Wes "There's a man taking pictures of us!" and he replies "I know, it's ok. I hired him". The ring was insanely gorgeous and I didn't' even help him with clues of what I'd like. He did an amazing job creating this special surprise moment as a the beginning of an amazing journey together.
]]>The sun shone brightly for Evelyn and Jake's out of this world celestial themed fall wedding at Kingan Gardens in beautiful, historic downtown Tucson!
I met Eve and Jake in September of 2016 and knew right away they were my ideal couple. Easy going, creative, and fun-loving, they had visions of a romantic and whimsical, yet casual wedding. Getting to know them was a pleasure and their dreamy engagement session at Mount Lemmon was one of my favorites to date. In case you missed it, check it out here!
Their love of all things space influenced their deep blue, purple and gold color palette, which was so much fun to photograph. With the century old carriage house in the background, the vibrant sun enveloped them as they took their vows in front of friends and family from near and far.
My favorite memories of their day - awesome bridal party, lawn games, and little ones shaking it on the dance floor!
Thanks for having me be a part of your celebration!

Spending the day with Melissa and Emmanuel to celebrate their love was an absolute joy! The festivities started early in the morning at the beautiful and historic Bates Mansion in Tucson with champagne for the ladies and whiskey for the gents while everyone got ready for the celebration! My favorite part was when Emmanuel turned and saw his bride for the first time during their first look. Their passionate embrace brought tears to all of our eyes! Next we headed down to San Martin De Porres Catholic Parish for mass led by Father Juan Carlos. We had gorgeous light for their bridal party photos and walking around downtown Tucson with the happy couple allowed for such romantic images! Then the party continued back at Bates Mansion with friends and family dancing into the night (with glows sticks none the less!)
Melissa and Emmanuel - you are an inspiration. Your strength, compassion, and kindheartedness will lead the way to a lifetime of happiness.

I had so much fun with these two during our Mount Lemmon engagement shoot! Clayton and Loren had an impromptu picnic in the woods followed by the most beautiful sunset at Windy Point.
The love and connection I witnessed between these two sweethearts had my heart melting! And their engagement story is the best! Boston is Loren's favorite city and when she was visiting family last summer, Clayton flew out and surprised her by proposing while in the gazebo at Boston Commons surrounded by her family.
Their spring wedding at La Mariposa is going to be a blast and I can't wait to document it!

Steven and Madii's wedding was filled with too many sweet moments to count. From their intimate, emotion filled, first-touch, to when Steven watched their son walk down the aisle, to Madii's dad giving her away, they had a dream wedding from beginning to end and the love they share was evident everywhere! When I look back on their wedding, what stands out to me is how much these two genuinely just GET each other. There is a connection between them that comes through in everything they do. When we were taking their portraits after the ceremony, they just could not keep their hands off each other and their giggly smiles, gentle gestures, and loving embraces continued throughout the evening. My heart melted all day at these two!

Jenna and Tommy have such a cute proposal story. It happened the Sunday after Thanksgiving during a sunset hike at South Mountain. Jenna bent down to give their dog Brody some water and when she turned around, Tommy was on one knee with a ring. It was a complete surprise!

These two sweethearts had the most gorgeous wedding with so many beautiful details last spring at La Mariposa Resort. Matthew and Christina's desert spring wedding in the Tucson Mountains was filled with so much love, romance and natural beauty. They chose Sanctuary Cove for their ceremony and the breezy, sun-filled day we had against the peaceful backdrop of the mountains couldn't have been more perfect. Their celebration included a creosote blessing along with singing bowls and the groom even surprised the bride's daughter with a ring of her own (she wore it proudly all day and night)! The party continued into the night at the Omni Tucson National Resort and so many laughs were shared by all!

When I first talked with Stacey and Devin about how they met, where they got engaged, their wedding, etc., I was reminded of how grateful I am for the trust people have in me to give them the photographs they will love. They met five years ago at Hotel Congress during a Meet Me At Maynards event - this weekly opportunity encourages people to rediscover downtown while socializing, exercising, and exploring the history, beauty, and architecture of our city. Stacey didn't know the exact route and ended up asking Devin if she could join his group. They ended up running together that night and a few weeks later they finally exchanging numbers and went on their first date. Over the next year they road tripped through Utah, had a mountain lion encounter along Blackett's Ridge, and went backpacking in Zion. Since they moved to Boulder in 2013, they've shared so many adventures together - sea kayaking on Lake Powell, backpacking, rock climbing, fly fishing and skiing. Through it all, they have always encouraged and supported each other in their individual passions and pursuits.
They got engaged in October 8, 2016 after a sunrise climb of the Third Flatiron in Boulder. Devin had been carrying the ring around for weeks waiting for the right moment. On their hike back after finishing the five pitch climb and rappel back down, Devin pulled Stacey off the trail and proposed (of course, the ring was buried in his climbing bag under all his gear, so she had to sit on a rock with her eyes closed until he dug it out, knowing what was coming). They celebrated with mimosas and brunch at the Chautauqua Dining Hall after.
Even though they now reside in Boulder, they decided to have their wedding in Tucson since that is where they met and went to school. We brainstormed ideas for their engagement session and they suggested climbing Hitchcock Pinnacle at Mt. Lemmon. Of course I was ALL IN! Our session started higher up the mountain in the woodlands and ended at sunset at Windy Point. It was March in Arizona but surprisingly chilly and you can't tell it from these photos but we were all freezing towards the end!
The trust, commitment, love and support these two have for each other shine through in these images and I can't wait to document their upcoming fall wedding!
Special thanks to my awesome mama who assisted me (while braving the wind and cold) during this shoot - I couldn't have done it without you!

Meeting Godfrey and John and getting to know them while they planned their wedding was an absolute joy! When we first got together to discuss their wedding day vision, I was struck by their kindness, warmth, and outgoing personalities. I knew their day was going to be a blast to photograph! They also wanted to do something different for their engagement session so we decided on HUB Ice Cream for some tasty treats and then headed out to the desert for a champagne toast at sunset. In case you missed it, you can see it here.
Fast forward to April 21, 2017. After months of planning, their vision came to life and they had the most amazing wedding day!
Here are a few of my favorite details from their wedding:
1. Mimosas + hair and makeup = a great start to the day
2. The bride's "Drunk in Love" tank (you've got to see it....it's a must have)
3. That VEIL. YES. Yes to the veil.
4. Floor length blush bridesmaid dresses with mismatched tops - stunning!
5. We can't forget about the guys! John's blue/grey suit was tailor made for him and the groomsmen's suspenders were a win.
6. The tears, smiles, and sweet gestures between the two of them during the ceremony (heart melting)
7. Now this was a first for me - the bride's family made life-like face masks of Godfrey and John for the bridal party/guests and everyone had too much fun with it! Trust me and scroll down to see!
8. The party bus to Union Public House
9. The beautiful table set up and seating arrangement
10. Finally - the EPIC dance party had by all!
This was a day I will never forget! Godrey and John - congratulations on your marriage and thank you for having me document it for you. Much love! XO

]]>Michelle and Blake are the sweetest couple and we had a lovely day up on Mount Lemmon for their engagement session. They got engaged at Dos Cabezos Wineworks in Senoita so we decided to celebrate with a bottle of their favorite vino. We had a cozy picnic before the sun went down and then braved the breezy spring evening at Windy Point. It was a beautiful day and I am so excited for their October wedding!
Michelle and Blake are both teachers. Blake teaches Chemistry and Michelle teaches English so obviously they have chemistry ;)
They had me at donuts and Bloody Mary's! When I first talked with Joey and Tori about their brunch themed garden spring wedding, I was all in. These two thought of so many fun details to make their wedding unique and one that their guests thoroughly enjoyed from beginning to end.
The couple met at a college summer program where Tori was a student and Joey was an English instructor. Joey was technically Tori's very first college instructor! After the program ended, Tori enrolled in a lecture Joey was a TA for in the fall semester. They became close friends, realized they had feelings for each other and the rest is history! The wedding took place the day before their sixth anniversary. They love to enjoy brunch together on Saturdays (or any day) so decided to make that the theme for their special day.
We celebrated on a beautiful sunny Saturday in March and my favorite part was all the DIY touches. Jars of homemade jam were given out as favors and Tori built the boxes they used as centerpieces. The reception tables were named after some of their favorite fictional couples. Think Office Space's "Jim and Pam." How fun is that?! Check it all out below!

This is Evelyn and Jake. They've been together eight years, are getting married in the fall, and decided to have their engagement session up on Mt. Lemmon in the Catalina Mountains. It ended up being one of my favorite shoots of all time, mostly because of the chemistry these two had. The way they looked at each other, held each other, and laughed together made for such a natural and fun photo shoot.
The greatest thing about shooting at Mt. Lemmon is how much the landscape changes from the base to the top. We started down low with the Sonoran desert (I'm in love with the navy tones Evelyn and Jake choose for their outfits), went up top to the woodlands (for a champagne picnic) and ended up at Windy Point at sunset (the views here are spectacular).
You HAVE to scroll all the way to the bottom to see how we ended this epic shoot. Hint: silhouettes at sunset on a mountaintop are my new favorite thing!

Sometimes you witness a love between two people that is just meant to be. These two get each other. They get IT. They understand what love is, what marriage means, and their intimate, Sunday spring wedding had me in tears. What got to me was this - life is hard and sometimes the pain is too difficult to bear. But if you find someone to be by your side through it all, to lift you up, support you, and love you no matter what, you will get through it. Love really does heal. I saw that with these two. Through their laughter and tears, they will always be there for each other.
Marissa and Fred met through mutual friends while in high school but didn't start dating until a few years later. They got engaged on August 20 of last year while vacationing on Coronado Island as the sun was setting over the ocean. They planned their wedding for April at the beautiful historic hotel, Hacienda Del Sol, and it couldn't have been more perfect. Best wishes to both of you and thank you for having me be a part of your day!

I had so much fun with this adorable couple and their super sweet fur babies during our engagement shoot! Melissa and Emmanuel have the kind of love we all dream about. I could feel how much they care for each other during our session. Plus they know how to laugh, have fun, and are just genuinely awesome people to be around!
They got engaged on Christmas Eve, together with their families, while opening gifts. As Melissa was unwrapping her gift by the tree, her niece and two nephews came out from the kitchen each holding a balloon with the words "Will You Marry...." and then Emmanuel came out with a "ME" balloon! Heart melting!!!
It has been a pleasure getting to know them over the last year! I'm super excited for their wedding.

Everything about this wedding had me smiling for days! Laura and David embraced the southwest for their spring wedding with so many gorgeous details. Kartchner Caverns State Park provided a stunning mountain backdrop for their ceremony. Afterwards, they celebrated with friends and family by dancing into the late hours of the evening at Bates Mansion in downtown Tucson. Guests were even treated to a performance by The Circus Academy of Tucson and enjoyed delicious craft beer from Dragoon Brewing. It was an absolute joy to capture. Best wishes you two!

I have a special place in my heart for these two! Edgardo has been a supporter of my photography since the first day I walked into his Wells Fargo branch to open my business account. We got to know each other at the bank and after he got engaged to Jessica in San Diego, he wanted to learn more about his options with wedding photography. So I met the two of them for coffee and hit it off immediately! We shot their engagement session last fall up at Mount Lemmon and their wedding at La Mariposa was a dream! We laughed, we cried, we danced, and our hearts were full. It was a night I'll never forget!
Edgardo and Jessica - it's been a pleasure getting to know you both over the last few years and I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!

Tiffany and James have been together five years, got engaged at Mount Lemmon, and had a beautiful sunset wedding surrounded by friends and family last spring at The Westin La Paloma. Her blush two piece dress was stunning against the Tucson sunset and mountain backdrop. I loved all the details that went into her day, especially the succulent guest favors! It was a stunning celebration and so much fun to document!

I had a wonderful time with this beautiful couple and their adorable daughter at our engagement shoot at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort in Tucson. The lush desert background and modern interior decor provided the perfect location for them. I couldn't get over her gorgeous outfit choices and shoes - absolutely stunning!
Their upcoming wedding is going to be amazing!
These two sweet souls share a love we all dream of. Full of kindness, compassion, genuineness, honesty, and hope. Documenting their wedding was truly an honor and a privilege. They had a ceremony that I will remember forever - complete with mindfulness, silence, a soil ceremony, songs, laughter, tears, and most of all - joy.
Julia and Jamie chose to make their commitment in front of friends and family on Tohono O'odham land at The Cooper Center for Environmental Learning. The cool, calm, overcast January day in the desert made their ceremony even more meaningful and special as rainy days in southern Arizona are a rarity. Just like the love these two have, their day was unique and words cannot describe the emotions felt by all. But hopefully my photographs do.
p.s. Their reception included the most epic dance party I have ever witnessed. For real. Check out the dance photos at the bottom - you will not be disappointed!
Much love! XO

When Kara contacted me last fall and said she was planning a small, quick, elopement style outdoor winter wedding in Saguaro National Park with 10 family members, I was ALL IN!! Desert elopements are the best. Especially when you are coming from cold Minnesota to sunny Arizona in the middle of January!
Kara and Brandon got engaged on a boat last summer on Lake Melissa (cool name, right?) and decided to forgo a traditional big wedding in Minnesota. Kara's parents live in Green Valley so they enlisted them to scope out the perfect desert spot for their small celebration. After Skyping with Kara and Brandon, I was even MORE excited to document their day. We talked about how to schedule the day, the best spot for the ceremony, timing, etc. I love to be heavily involved in the wedding planning process with my couples. It really helps the day run smooth and allows us to always get dreamy photographs - like the ones below!
It was a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon in January when the couple tied the knot. They got ready at Casino Del Sol and had their first look at a secluded promenade area complete with a champagne toast! My favorite part - they wrote each other letters and their greeting on the envelope to each other was the exact same. Both said "My Love." This made them both tear up and laugh and for me, I was able to truly see the connection these two have and it melted my heart!
We headed to our "secret" spot out in Saguaro National Park for their intimate ceremony. Kara glowed as the sun went lower in the sky and the mountains provided a gorgeous natural backdrop. The family celebrated with champagne and we ended with portraits of the newlyweds out in the desert at sunset.
It was truly a perfect day! Kara and Brandon - thank you for having me document it!

I love telling the story of how my couples met, fell in love, got engaged, etc. Especially this one! Jessica and Edgardo met while both working at Wells Fargo (after two months in the same branch, they finally had their first date) and coincidentally that's how I met the groom! When I started my business three years ago, Edgardo helped me get all my bank accounts in order and was very helpful. He became a familiar face to me when I came into the bank. He always asked how my business was going and I knew he was genuinely interested in my growth and success as a small business owner.
Jessica no longer works at the bank (she is currently a behavioral health technician) but after being together almost three years, they got engaged on the beach in San Diego last spring. Late last summer Edgardo let me know that he recently proposed to his girlfriend and was going to need a wedding photographer! Even more of a coincidence is that Jessica is from Rio Rico (where I used to live) and we have several mutual friends. I was thrilled when they said they'd like to work with me - yippee!
We scheduled their engagement session for the fall so we could enjoy the cooler temperatures along with Starbucks (and champagne) up at Mt. Lemmon. My mom assisted me on this shoot and the four of us had a great time!
Edgardo and Jessica - thank you for asking me to be your wedding photographer. I am so excited for 3.10.17!

1. They had a gorgeous first look out at Gates Pass
2. Emily was determined to do a jumping photo in her dress and she nailed it
3. La Cocina was the perfect venue for their ceremony and reception - it's beautiful, intimate, and sooooo Tucson!
4. Their hand written letters to each other during the ceremony had everyone in tears (including me)
5. Mike followed the jewish tradition of breaking the glass at the end of the ceremony and I think I yelled "Mazel tov!" louder than anyone
5. Their Horah dance pretty much brought the house down and was so much fun to photograph
6. There was an arm wrestling match
7. Everyone danced to Thriller
8. And the groom sang Karaoke to Baby Got Back
All of that and MORE are why you have to check out their wedding below! Enjoy! XO
Thank you both for everything. XO

When I got a call from the bride's mom and heard about the vision for their fall wedding, I knew it would be an amazing celebration to document. Tracy and Isaac met back in 2007 while attending Lewis and Clark College in Oregon. They moved to New York in 2011 but wanted to have their wedding surrounded by friends and family in Tucson. I spoke with the Brooklyn couple late last summer and we immediately hit it off. They described the feeling they hoped for their day to be casual, loose and not too serious, but full of love. They wanted to embrace the location (since many guest would be traveling in from out of state) with southwestern/desert tones, succulents, etc. Candid and journalistic were the style of photos most important to them. They got married on a beautiful October day in Tucson, with their first look in a garden at the University of Arizona campus, and their ceremony and reception at Merci Gallery downtown. Everything about their day just fit them. The location, the colors, the food, the music, the dancing, the celebrating, the love and the laughter. I have truly never seen a couple surrounded by so much love and happiness.
My favorite part? The groom is a musician (founder/owner of Orpheus Piano Co.) and composed a piece for Tracy in honor of the day. Just before dinner and as a gentle rain fell on the patio, Isaac brought the guests into the gallery, introduced the piece and the string quartet began to play. The feeling in that room when the string quartet serenaded the audience reminded us all that love truly does conquer all.

Star and Kyle's day was filled with love and laughter (and tears of happiness - I think I cried three times)! It was the most dreamy day, at the most beautiful location, with the sweetest group of friends and family. You could feel the chemistry between this bridal party. So much friendship, support, and all out love. My favorite part of the day? When Kyle met Star walking toward the alter. See, Star's dad passed away so she walked out by herself, tears and all. But the moment she took Kyle's arm, utter happiness spread throughout her entire being and her eyes lit up, and those tears became instant drops of happiness.
Wishing you an eternity of love!! XO

These two football fans were all smiles for our maternity shoot! That Packers jersey sure looked good on this mama-to-be and once we got out to the desert, the landscape and light matched perfectly with Jeanette's dress! Isn't she gorgeous? And dad couldn't be happier. We had a great time exploring the Barrio Viejo neighborhood in Tucson and then heading out to the desert at sunset for their session.
Wishing you all the best! ...and a winning season ;) XO
Karen and Casey's wedding at La Mariposa was an absolute blast to photograph. Everyone had the best time! And talk about a dance party- this crowd wouldn't stop!
A few of my favorite moments from this October wedding - the sweetest first look before the ceremony, the vows they wrote, the epic bridal party portraits, and singing American Pie at the end of the night!
Thank you for having me document your day! XO
Karen wanted a modern look for some of her bridal party photos - I think we nailed it!!
This outdoor wedding last fall was a dream to photograph! From the sunflower lined country roads, to the open fields and mountain backdrop, Open Cross Ranch down in Senoita, AZ was the perfect location for Chelsey and Chad to get married. They said their "I Do's" just as the sun went behind the mountain and celebrated all night long with friends and family over the campfire and dancing in the barn. Wishing you all the best! XO

Stephanie and Michael are Midwesterners tying the knot next summer in Indianapolis! The couple relocated to Tucson so Michael could attend law school at the University of Arizona and Stephanie works as a program coordinator in the aerospace industry. They wanted their engagement photos to reflect the southwestern landscape so we decided on two locations - Barrio Viejo and out in the desert. We had a great session exploring the neighborhood and even dancing in the desert.
Best wishes you two!
I can't tell you how happy I get when I meet a couple just as excited about photography as me! Well that was Andrea and Vincent. When we first met and they started telling me about their day, I got suuuuuper excited because I knew their vision would be a dream to photograph! They've been together over six years and could practically finish each other's sentences and it was beyond cute. Fast forward to their wedding day - a lovely September day in Tucson. They had an understated travel theme with guests dressing in semi-formal/black attire which complemented her deep cranberry dresses and accents. They both said dramatic lighting and candids were photos that were most important to them BUT they also wanted a "vanity fair/high fashion" photo of the wedding party and we totally nailed it! Not to mention Andrea had an idea of having a silly photo of her with the groomsmen...you'll just have to scroll down to see that one! Did I mention she surprised Vincent with a Super Mario Bros. grooms cake!? AND guests were treated to Sonoran Dogs at the end of the night. It was amazing. Their entire day was an absolute blast!!
Thank you for having me capture your wedding day. Your love for each other was contagious and I wish you decades of love and happiness!

This girl is model material! Seriously. Her smile, he poise, her infectious smile....so beautiful! She was a blast to photograph and I had so much fun getting to know her! Jasmine is a senior at Green Fields High, plans to go to college in California to study psychology, and hopes to go into the field of child development either in clinical or environmental law. She has played volleyball for seven years and is amazing at aerial silks. We even scheduled a second shoot where I got to see her in action with the silks (stay tuned for those photos). For this session, we started in Barrio Viejo where the colorful doors, buildings, and streets provided the perfect backdrop for her simple jeans and tank look. Next we moved out to the desert where her white lace dress was dreamy against the soft light of the desert at sunset.
Jasmine - best wishes for your future and thank you for asking me to be your senior photographer!

Emily and Michael are the kind of couple you just want to hang out with. They are easy-going, fun-loving and just genuinely sweet people! We had an adventure traversing around Catalina State Park! It is going to be a beautiful celebration and a super fun party :) XO

Priscilla and Lyle are getting married!!! 10-14-16 is almost here! Since they are both huge football fans, we decided to incorporate their love of the Patriots into their shoot. Aren't they cute?? We also used Lyle's traditional Navajo blanket and his cowboy hat and those are my favorite!
Thanks for asking me to be your wedding photographer. I'm so excited to document your day!

I love everything about these two humans. Samantha and Jackie are so much in love and their connection makes my heart sing. I met them a little over a year ago when Samantha asked me to photograph her surprise proposal to her girlfriend. I was so excited, the proposal was epic, and since then I've photographed the couple with their dog for their holiday card, and Samantha did some modeling for me last spring (isn't she breathtakingly beautiful?!). Once they set the wedding date, we decided to have their engagement session in downtown Tucson and out in the desert at sunset. The passion these two share was so much fun to capture. Love really does win. XO
One of the best things about being a photographer is meeting so many cool couples. Cody and Tess are just that. Fun, easy going, and so incredibly in love! They met in Vegas, John proposed on a snowy mountaintop in Breckenridge on St. Patrick's Day, and they started their engagement session at Hub Ice Cream, and ended with a champagne toast at sunset. Don't you love them already?? I sure do! We had a blast running around downtown and out in the desert for their photos. They are the kindest, most in-love couple ever. There are so many things I loved about this wedding, I don’t even know where to start! First of all, Michelle and Jaime are THAT couple. Maynards Market & Kitchen and Hotel Congress in Tucson, AZ were the perfect spots for Celine and Jon's wedding. The urban backdrop paired with the historic hotel made for a beautiful celebration. After the bride and groom got ready at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort, we headed to Maynards for their outdoor wedding. The weather was perfect and the details were on point - including a Jenga guest book! They had an intimate celebration filled with love, tears, and smiles. After the ceremony, we walked around downtown Tucson for their portraits and enjoyed the hollers, horn honks, and "congratulations" from people passing by. The celebration continued at Hotel Congress with delicious food, an amazing cake, heart-warming toasts and of course, dancing! I snuck the couple away for a few minutes, went to the rooftop, and got a few shots of them with the historic neon sign as their backdrop. It was a wonderful day and I'm so happy I got to capture it. Congratulations to the happy couple! XO

Megan and Brett are the sweetest couple and their wedding day was magical! They had a traditional Byzantine Catholic ceremony at Saint Melany's church in Tucson. The crowning of the bride and groom by the priest was truly beautiful. The celebration continued with a reception at the Tucson Women's Club, which included the BEST bride and groom dance I have ever seen. You HAVE to check out their dance moves below :) The toasts, speeches and dancing in that hall was a testament to the love these two have. There was so much love and laughter shared between friends and family on this incredible day and it was so much fun to capture. Thanks for having me document your day. I wanted to do something different for Karen and Casey's engagement session. Something that fit THEM. So we decided to go to a brewery, play some scrabble, and then run around out in the desert. Puebla Vida was the perfect spot downtown and we had gorgeous golden light for our sunset desert adventure. So excited for their October wedding!
This is Nikki and Colin. U of A students, artists, creatives, and all around good people with such warm souls. These dreamy images tell the story of their connection and deep love for each other. We had so much fun at Gates Pass and the beauty of the Sonoran desert was the perfect backdrop for their session. I'm honored to be photographing their wedding in June. So excited for the big day. Meet Emma & Ethan. Cutest. Kids. Ever. My favorite type of family session is when kids just get to be kids. We had a blast running around Aqua Caliente Park. The bubble machine was too much fun and I love the dreamy sunset light. Enjoy!
Rachel and I became friends all because of yoga! We were both regulars on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4th Avenue Yoga and before we got into our downward dogs, we chatted it up and realized we had a few things in common (besides yoga). We had both lived in Chicago and were fairly new to Tucson but wanted to get to know the city better. Rachel invited me to see a broadway show and she has even assisted me on a few of my photo shoots! So when she asked me to take her and Ben's maternity photos, I was thrilled! Ben is a doing his residency in internal medicine at Banner University Medical Center while Rachel works in pharmaceutical research. They are such a fun couple and we had a blast frolicking around Gates Pass. Can't wait to meet your little one (March 26th is just days away)! You are a stunning mama-to-be and I'm grateful for our friendship!

Amy and Andrew are Arizona Alums (see a pattern here?!) and decided to have their engagement session back in Tucson. We had a great time exploring the old barrio neighborhood south of downtown where I learned that Amy is a kindergarten teacher and Andrew works in advertising. They met while studying at the University of Arizona and built a friendship while Andrew studied abroad in Spain. After graduation they moved to San Francisco and this was their first trip back to Arizona since! They got engaged in December and are planning a 2017 wedding back in Amy's hometown in Florida. We had to get a photo in front of A Mountain and then we headed out to the desert to end our shoot at sunset. Such a beautiful couple and I wish you all the best! XO

Michelle and Jaime are tying the knot in May at the Stillwell House in Tucson, AZ. We decided on Gates Pass for their engagement session and it couldn't have been more perfect. The Tucson Mountains are stunning at sunset. I love the soft, dreamy, pastel palette for the first half of the session. When the sun went down, we had fun playing with the light flare against the mountains and the sunset was amazing! The love these two share shines through in these images and I can't wait for May! Thanks for asking me to be your photographer :) XO
Got together with an amazing team of photographers (and two gorgeous models) at Gates Pass for a shoot out! Learned so much. Laughed a ton. And was truly inspired by such talent!! Thank you Tina Kraemer of Pure in Art Photography for organizing and for Chris Hsieh of La Brisa Photography for sharing so many tips. I love how the light changes throughout this session. From soft and creamy to bold and dramatic. Enjoy!

This Sahuarita High School senior is absolutely stunning! Nina, you are beautiful on the inside and out. From downtown Tucson, to the desert mountains, this girl rocked our session. I mean look at that smile! Her energy radiates!!

Meet Denise and Will. Denise is a Tucson native who moved to Vietnam to teach English at an American School. Will is from Australia and met the love of his life while also teaching in Vietnam. The love, chemistry, and all cuteness surrounding these two made me swoooon! Their wedding day at Hotel Congress in downtown Tucson was absoltely perfect. An intimate celebration with friends and family, good food/drinks, and lots of dancing! Congratulations to you two! Wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness.
Thank you for having me capture your day! XO
Yes! We saw a snake during our bride/groom portraits! Luckily it wasn't a rattler ;)
These two met their freshman year at the University of Arizona - in Coronado Hall to be exact! After college they moved to New York where Julie works for a magazine and Matt in business. They haven't been back to Arizona in almost five years, since they graduated. So when they got engaged (Matt planned a super romantic proposal...think rose petals, candles...you get the idea) they decided to come back to where it all started for their engagement session. We had fun running around campus where Julie and Matt relived old times. Then we ended the evening out in the desert surrounded by a gorgeous sunset, beautiful mountains, and all the dreaminess that makes Arizona everything we love. Congratulations on your engagement! Wishing you a lifetime of happiness. And don't forget to come back and visit where it all began :)
Warm fall colors, rustic/vintage details, lots of laughter, SO MUCH LOVE.
Those are just a few of many of the memories the guests have from this beyond amazing day. Joe and Whitney thought of every detail when they planned their Northern Arizona wedding. Friends and family were brought to tears by the intimate, emotionally filled outdoor ceremony at The Bistro at Annie's. A delicious dinner (the carnitas were to die for) immediately followed. The celebration continued at the gorgeous Stone Haven Lodge nestled in the pine trees of the White Mountains. Guests were treated to signature drinks, mouth watering desserts (the pyramid chocolate mousse was out of this world), a photo booth, and dancing under the stars!
Thank you for letting me capture your special day!! Wishing you a lifetime of love, laughter, and happiness!! XO
Okay. This family was beyond fun! Jessica and Ryan LOVE celebrating Halloween and decided on a scary movie theme for the whole family this year. These boys had a blast dressing up and playing the part of Chuckie and Jason. But no, they've never actually seen the movies :) Mom and Dad really got into the roles of Freddie and Leatherface! Did I mention their last name is Grimm?! How fitting! Oh and we got some regular shots of the fam too. Love the blue eyes on these kiddos. Happy Halloween everyone!

This mama-daughter duo was a delight to photograph! Their smiles, giggles, and silly faces made for a fun session downtown. If you haven't been to the heart of Tucson recently, gather your family/friends, and make plans to spend the day! There is something for everyone - we enjoyed checking out the food, fashion, and design inspired gifts at FORSarchitecture+interiors, had some delicious ice cream at Hub Ice Cream Factory, browsed the selection of musical instruments at The Chicago Music Store, and ended the evening walking around the Armory Park neighborhood.
I absolutely love our downtown community and couldn't ask for a better neighborhood to live in.
Thanks to all the shop owners for being so awesome!
Chrissy and Freddie, these images make my heart melt! Thanks for spending the evening downtown with me :)
You know what's better than photographing a senior?! Photographing a senior who is ALSO a photographer! Desiree is a senior at Walden Grove High School with a passion for photography and plans to attend the University of Arizona, get her business degree, and then open a photography studio. She is well on her way! Check out her work here: www.flickr.com/desireebustos and follow her on instagram: @desireebustosphotography
We had an awesome time running around downtown Tucson and Gates Pass for our session. Not only was the weather perfect and the light dreamy - it was also the evening of the Blood Moon! We were able to see the moon rise over the mountains out at Gates Pass and it was amazing.
Thank you, Desiree, for asking me to take your senior portraits. Keep learning and growing as an artist and I know you will become a successful photographer! Best wishes :)

I first met this family a little over a year ago when Liz asked me to do maternity pictures with her adorable daughter Kaiya and awesome hubs Jeff. We had a wonderful time frolicking around Gates Pass and one of my all time favorite photographs is Liz and her gorgeous belly overlooking the mountains at sunset (go back to my homepage and look for this photo...seriously, do it NOW...it's amazing)! When baby Scarlett came along, they welcomed me into their home where we did newborn photos, then I got to see the whole family again at Christmas time. That's what I love about being a photographer - the relationships I develop with these awesome families! And here is Scarlett - one year later! I can't believe how fast it went by. She was a rockstar for our photo shoot at Reid Park. Her faces had me laughing all evening. I promise...they will bring a smile to your face. Happy Birthday Scarlett! See you guys soon :)

My heart melted when I first laid eyes on this little guy! Sooooooooo tiny. It was great getting to know Brian and Sonca during our session. I love watching new parents interact with their baby and capturing the simplest of moments. The intimacy of these images are exactly what I love about photography. Enjoy!
This girl is awesome! We had such a fun morning running around downtown Tucson for her senior portrait session. From the colorful murals and adobe buildings, to the alleyways and streets of downtown, her beautiful smile and radiant eyes made for some gorgeous pictures! Thank you Urmi for asking me to take your senior photos. Enjoy your senior year!!! And best of luck with those three (yes, THREE) AP classes ;)

This little cutie was a blast to photograph! I was thrilled when Cinthia asked me to do a photo session celebrating Alicia turning one. Out came the bubbles, balloons, and of course CAKE! We spent the morning shooting in Reid Park and despite the heat, Alicia was a trooper and I am in love with the story these images tell. Her eyes and that smile - oh my! I've enjoyed getting to know this family over the last several months - thank you for having me capture the special moments in your lives! XO
I first met Blanca and Oscar last fall when Blanca's sister asked me to photograph their engagement. But this wasn't just any engagement! This was the most romantic, heart-felt, beautiful, surprise engagement I've ever seen! Oscar planned an amazing surprise proposal in Tubac complete with candles, roses, and a celebration with friends and family. It was such a happy occasion! Afterwards we scheduled an engagement portrait session in downtown Tucson where I got to know Oscar and Blanca a little better. They are such a genuine, sweet, sincere, and caring couple! So I was thrilled with they asked me to photograph their wedding! Their day at Skyline Country Club was filled with love, tears and laughter, and lots of dancing! Their emotional ceremony was perfect from beginning to end and their reception was such a joyous celebration! Oscar and Blanca - thank you for having me photograph your wedding day. It was magical! Congratulations!
p.s. Special thank you to Nieves Montaño Photography for assisting me!
Meet Jon. Born and raised in Southern Arizona. Attended the University of Arizona in Tucson and currently teaches high school science.
Five years ago, Aimee followed several of her WMU friends and moved to Arizona to become a band director. She met the love of her life during her first year teaching music at the Sunnyside School District in Tucson, AZ.
Jon and Aimee are the kind of couple you can't help but love to be around. Easy-going, fun-loving, up-for-anything, Jon and Aimee. Their wedding represented their personalities and style and was an off the charts celebration. From the middle school band serenading the church service, to the desert themed cake and personalized toppers (you'll see it below - a french horn for Aimee and a lab coat for Jon), every detail of their day was perfect. The historic Hotel Congress in the heart of downtown Tucson was the ideal site for their reception. Built in 1919, it's teeming with vintage charm and provided the perfect backdrop for all things that made this wedding unique. Where else would you find a music stand welcome, vinyl record sign-in, Mexican candy favors, hand-crafted Goose Island bottle centerpieces, AND a dinner side round of The Match Game?
Only at Jon and Aimee's wedding. Congratulations you two!
Location: A rural backyard in Southern Illinois
Hair and Makeup: The Kiss N Makeup Parlour Cake: Sonya's Brown Sugar Bakery

What surprised me the most is how much the canyon can “change” depending on the light. And as photographers, we live for the light! My photographs are the way the canyon looked to me at that particular moment. No heavy digital editing was done here. Like every person who has photographed the canyon before, my photos do not do it justice. That’s impossible. You truly have to see and experience it yourself.
Enjoy the splendor of the canyon through my eyes and I hope this encourages you to get outside and explore your natural surroundings this spring!
